Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You currently receive diabetes care at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital or Yale New Haven Hospital
  • You are willing to sign and date a consent form provided by the study team
  • You are willing to complete all study activities and are available for the full length of the study
  • You are between 18 and 30 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, or another form of diabetes that requires insulin (such as latent autoimmune diabetes in adults, or diabetes caused by pancreatitis), for at least 1 year
  • You have been using a continuous glucose monitor (a small wearable device that tracks your blood sugar levels) as part of your regular care for at least the past 2 weeks
  • You are able to use a smartphone
  • You are able to read and write in English

Who may not be able to join:

  • You already have a regular meditation or mindfulness practice that meets or goes beyond the amount recommended by this study (confirm with trial site)
  • You currently have a serious untreated mental health condition (such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, major depression, panic disorder, borderline personality disorder, or certain other mood or mental disorders), or you are currently having thoughts of suicide
  • You have started or changed a psychiatric medication within the past 2 months, or your current medication is not yet stable
  • You are currently pregnant or plan to become pregnant during the study period
