Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • A doctor has officially diagnosed you with asthma at least 12 months ago.
  • You have been taking a medium or high dose of inhaled asthma controller medication (called ICS) for at least 6 months.
  • You have been on a medium or high dose of this inhaled controller medication for at least 3 months continuously (confirm with trial site for exact dose definitions).
  • You are also taking at least one other daily asthma controller medication, and have been for at least 3 months.
  • Your lung function test (a breathing test called FEV1) shows your lungs are working at less than 80% of what is expected for someone your age and size.

  • You have had at least 2 asthma attacks (flare-ups) in the past 12 months, and at least one of those happened while you were already on medium-to-high dose inhaled medication.
  • Your asthma symptom questionnaire score (ACQ-6) shows your asthma is not well controlled at the start of the study.
  • You have completed at least 70% of required daily electronic health questionnaires in the 7 days before joining the study.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a significant lung or breathing condition other than asthma.
  • You have a history of cancer.
  • You have a history of a serious infection (confirm with trial site for details).
  • You are currently a smoker, or you have smoked heavily in the past (10 pack-years or more).
  • You have had issues with alcohol or drug misuse in the past 12 months.
  • You have hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV.
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have previously had a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) to any biologic medicine.
  • You have already taken part in this study or a previous study involving the medicine called SHR-1905.
