Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People diagnosed with epithelial ovarian cancer, which includes specific types such as high- and low-grade serous, high- and low-grade endometrioid, mucinous, and carcinosarcoma.
  • People whose cancer has been staged anywhere from stage IA to stage IVB (covering early through advanced stages) using the FIGO 2014 staging system.
  • People who are having their main surgery for the first time, or who are having surgery after completing 3–4 or 6 cycles of chemotherapy beforehand.
  • People who had no cancer remaining after their surgery (complete removal of all visible disease).
  • People who are in good general health and able to carry out normal daily activities, as measured by a standard health scale called ECOG performance status 0–1.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose ovarian cancer is not of the epithelial type.
  • People whose general health is more significantly affected, as measured by an ECOG performance status of 2–4.
  • People who do not give their consent to take part in the study.
  • People who did not have a full staging surgery — which includes removal of the uterus, both fallopian tubes and ovaries, lymph nodes in the pelvis and around the main abdominal artery, and the fatty tissue covering the abdominal organs (omentum) — or who had cancer remaining after surgery.
