Who might be able to join this trial:

Main group (up to 90 people):

  • People who are female
  • People aged 21 or older
  • People diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer (Stage I, II, or III), regardless of the specific type of breast cancer
  • People who have already completed surgery for their breast cancer
  • People who have already finished chemotherapy after surgery, if that was part of their treatment plan
  • People who are currently experiencing fatigue at a level of 4 or above on a specific one-question fatigue scale (confirm with trial site)
  • People who are able to read and communicate in English
  • People who are willing to give their consent to take part in the study

Smaller exploratory group (up to 10 people):

  • People who are female
  • People aged 21 or older
  • People diagnosed with advanced breast cancer (Stage IV), regardless of the specific type of breast cancer
  • People who have already completed surgery for their breast cancer
  • People who are currently receiving ongoing treatment such as hormone therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy
  • People who are currently experiencing fatigue at a level of 4 or above on a specific one-question fatigue scale (confirm with trial site)
  • People who are able to read and communicate in English
  • People who are willing to give their consent to take part in the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People who have dementia or a major psychiatric condition
  • People whose medical team has determined they are not medically suitable for low to moderate intensity exercise
  • People who are unable or unwilling to take part in counselling sessions conducted remotely (such as by video or phone)
  • People experiencing pain that is not well controlled or has not yet been diagnosed
  • People with low blood counts below certain levels (confirm specific thresholds with trial site)
  • People with certain electrolyte (body salt) imbalances below certain levels (confirm specific thresholds with trial site)
  • People with certain heart conditions — such as a weakened heart, uncontrolled irregular heartbeat, severe heart artery or heart valve disease, or uncontrolled high blood pressure — that have not been cleared by a heart specialist
  • People who currently have an active infection
  • People who are already doing moderate to vigorous levels of physical activity on a regular basis
