Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 18 and 90 years old and are scheduled to have a procedure called ERCP (a procedure that examines the bile and pancreatic ducts) with an untouched natural opening (papilla) in your digestive tract.
• You are considered at higher risk of developing a complication called pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) after ERCP, which may include any one of the following: your doctor suspects a condition where the valve controlling bile and pancreatic fluid doesn't work properly; you have had pancreatitis after a previous ERCP; you need a specific type of cutting or widening procedure on the pancreatic valve; the doctor had difficulty accessing the bile duct during the procedure; or a balloon was used to widen the bile duct opening for a short time.
• You may also be considered higher risk if you meet two or more of these additional factors: you are a woman under 50 years old; you have had two or more episodes of pancreatitis in the past; dye was injected deeply into the pancreatic duct three or more times; a tiny part of the pancreas called the acini was highlighted during the procedure; or a brushing sample was taken from the pancreatic duct (confirm with trial site).

Who may not be able to join:

• You have previously had a cutting procedure on the bile duct opening or a large balloon widening of that area.
• You are planned to have a stent (a small tube) placed in your pancreatic duct, for example due to a narrowing or a planned removal of a growth in that area.
• You have an allergy to anti-inflammatory painkillers known as NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen or diclofenac).
• You have taken NSAIDs within the 7 days before the procedure.
• NSAIDs are not considered safe for you — for example, you have had a gastrointestinal bleed within the past 4 weeks, your kidneys are not working well enough, or you have a blood clotting problem.
• You have had a flare-up of pancreatitis within 7 days before the ERCP, or you currently have pancreatitis with swelling around the pancreas or fluid collections nearby.
• You are in an unstable or critical medical condition affecting your blood pressure or circulation.
• You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
• You are a higher-risk patient where a guidewire has been passed through the pancreatic duct during the procedure (confirm with trial site).
