Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who have had a non-traumatic subarachnoid haemorrhage (bleeding around the brain, not caused by injury) that has been identified through an angiography scan (a type of blood vessel imaging)
- People whose treatment plan already includes a lumbar drain (a tube placed in the lower back) or a ventricular drain (a tube placed in the brain) to manage fluid
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose subarachnoid haemorrhage was caused by a physical injury or trauma
- People for whom neither the patient nor their legal representative has given consent to participate
- People who had meningitis (an infection causing inflammation around the brain and spinal cord) within the 6 months before their bleeding event
- People whose immune system is weakened, either due to a medical condition or medications that affect the number or function of white blood cells
