Who might be able to join this trial:
- Men under 18 years of age whose prostate cancer has been confirmed by a tissue biopsy and classified as low- or intermediate-risk according to established medical guidelines (NCCN)
- People whose general physical health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain minimum level, as assessed by a standard medical scoring tool (ECOG score below 2)
- People who are able to have MRI scans, meaning they do not have absolute reasons preventing this, such as having a pacemaker or similar heart device implanted in the body
- People who are able to complete a standard prostate cancer quality-of-life questionnaire called the EPIC
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a history of inflammatory bowel disease, or any cancer other than prostate cancer
- People who have previously received pelvic radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery to remove the prostate, cryosurgery, or targeted therapies such as high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for prostate cancer
- People with a history of narrowing or blockage of the bladder neck or urethra (the tube that carries urine out of the body)
- People who have had a procedure to remove prostate tissue through the urethra (called TURP) within the 8 weeks before starting the trial treatment
- People whose prostate is larger than 100cc as measured on an MRI scan
- People who have had a hip replacement on one or both sides
- People whose cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes or other parts of the body, as shown by CT, MRI, or a specialised type of scan called a PSMA PET scan
- People who have previously received hormone-blocking therapy (androgen deprivation therapy) for more than 6 months
