Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with a type of spinal arthritis called axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), and you have had back pain for at least 3 months that started before you were 45 years old
  • Your spinal arthritis shows visible changes on X-rays, confirmed by a specialist review during the screening process
  • Your condition is currently active (causing symptoms) at the time of screening and when you are assigned to a treatment group
  • You have either tried anti-inflammatory painkillers (like ibuprofen or naproxen) but they did not work well enough or you could not tolerate them, AND you have never tried biologic medications — OR you have tried up to two different types of biologic medications that did not work well enough or you could not tolerate them

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have, or have had, joint inflammation that started before age 17, or you have been diagnosed with another inflammatory joint condition (such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, or similar conditions), or any other condition that might make it difficult to properly assess your spinal arthritis
