  • People whose asthma is classified as severe under the 2024 GINA guidelines, meaning asthma that remains uncontrolled — with frequent symptoms or flare-ups — even while using high-dose inhaled steroid inhalers combined with long-acting reliever inhalers, or whose symptoms worsen when those medications are slightly reduced
  • People who are willing to take part in a thorough, multi-step assessment process and have signed a consent form to participate
  • People who are able to attend follow-up appointments over a 6-month period as required by the study

  • People who have received certain targeted asthma biologic treatments (anti-IgE, anti-IL-5, or anti-IL-5R therapies) within the 4 weeks before the screening period
  • People who have been using a specific combination of three inhaler medications — an inhaled steroid, a long-acting reliever, and a long-acting anticholinergic — for the 4 weeks before the screening period
  • People who have a known allergy to macrolide antibiotics
  • People whose heart trace (ECG) shows a specific electrical timing measurement called QTc interval that is greater than 480 milliseconds
  • People who are taking medications that interact with the antibiotic azithromycin in ways that could affect heart rhythm or worsen existing heart electrical abnormalities (confirm with trial site)
