Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are willing and able to give written consent to participate in the study
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- A doctor has diagnosed you with asthma for more than 1 year
- You have had breathing tests (lung function tests) done within the last 30 days that met standard quality guidelines
- People of all racial and ethnic backgrounds may participate
- Your blood test shows a higher-than-normal level of a type of immune cell called eosinophils (above 300 cells/μL) (confirm with trial site)
- You have a relatively limited smoking history (less than 10 pack years) (confirm with trial site)
- You have not smoked, vaped, used cigars, or used marijuana in the last 3 months
- You are about to start treatment for asthma with one of these three medicines as part of your regular care: dupilumab, tezepelumab, or benralizumab
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a respiratory (breathing) tract infection in the 4 weeks before your first study visit
- Your body mass index (BMI) is over 30 at your first study visit
- You have recently received a one-time injection (such as a joint injection) without waiting 4 weeks before your first study visit
- You have visited the emergency room for asthma in the 4 weeks before joining, or at any point during the study
- You have a serious ongoing health condition such as heart disease, cancer, uncontrolled diabetes, or another chronic lung disease
- Your blood oxygen level is too low (below 90%) even when using supplemental oxygen through a nose tube
- You have a positive pregnancy test at your first visit or at any point during the study
- You have taken part in another clinical trial or used an experimental drug in the past 30 days, or plan to do so during this study
- The study doctor does not think you will be able to complete all parts of the study
- The study doctor believes taking part would put you at too much risk
- You have a condition that prevents you from safely having an MRI scan (confirm with trial site)
