Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are an adult of Black African descent who is scheduled to have a treatment called DSLT on one or both eyes.
  • You have been diagnosed with mild to moderate primary open-angle glaucoma (a common type of glaucoma where the drainage in the eye becomes less effective over time).
  • Your glaucoma has been rated as Stage 2 or better using a standard glaucoma grading scale (confirm with trial site).
  • Your eye pressure reading (the pressure inside your eye) is between 21 and 32 mmHg, either without medication or after stopping any glaucoma medication before the procedure.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You were taking medication to lower your eye pressure but were unable to fully stop taking it before the procedure, as required.
  • You have previously had surgery or another medical procedure to treat glaucoma (for example, certain laser treatments, implanted tubes, or other eye operations).
  • You have a type of glaucoma other than primary open-angle glaucoma, such as angle-closure glaucoma, glaucoma caused by abnormal blood vessel growth, or glaucoma resulting from an injury or another illness.
  • You have other significant eye conditions — such as advanced cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, or any other condition that the trial doctor believes could affect the assessment of your eye pressure or vision.
  • You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the time the study is running.
