Who might be able to join this trial:
- Your Body Mass Index (BMI) is 27 or higher (a measure of body weight relative to height)
- You have tried at least one diet to lose weight in the past, but it did not work
- You have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of the knee, AND at least one of the following applies to you:
- You are over 50 years old
- Your knees feel stiff in the morning for around 30 minutes
- You feel or hear a crackling or grinding sensation in your knee
Who may not be able to join:
- Your weight has changed by more than 11 pounds (either gained or lost) in the last 90 days
- You have had weight-loss surgery in the past, or are planning to have it within the next 18 months
- You currently have an active infection in your knee
- You have any form of diabetes, including type 1 or type 2
- You have recently had a serious heart condition, or have been diagnosed with severe heart failure (confirm with trial site)
- You have taken a GLP-1 medication (a type of weight or blood sugar medicine, such as semaglutide or liraglutide) within the last 180 days
