Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 70 years old
- You have been diagnosed with severe acute pancreatitis (a serious inflammation of the pancreas)
- Any organ problems you had were able to recover within 48 hours, with no lasting organ failure
- You are approximately 2 weeks after your pancreatitis started (not in the most acute phase), and scans show your condition has significantly improved compared to before

Who may not be able to join:

- You are not willing to sign a consent form
- You had a long-term problem with your heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, or blood before you were admitted to hospital
- You have a cancer that cannot be cured
- You have an autoimmune disease (where your immune system attacks your own body)
- You have a weakened immune system due to a previous organ or bone marrow transplant, HIV/AIDS, or long-term use of medications that suppress the immune system
- You are unable to get enough nutrition through your feeding tube because of severe diarrhea, bowel narrowing, severe gut swelling, or a high-output intestinal fistula
- You currently have signs of a serious body-wide inflammatory response to infection (confirm with trial site)
- You need strong, broad-spectrum antibiotics because of an infection outside the gut
- You have a condition — either from birth or developed later — that weakens your immune system
- You have a severe mental health disorder
