Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 50 years or older
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 20 or above (a measure of body weight relative to height)

- Women who could potentially become pregnant must have a negative blood pregnancy test at the start of the trial, and must agree to use a reliable form of contraception from 28 days before the first treatment until at least 7 days after the last treatment — acceptable methods include abstinence (if that is a consistent part of their lifestyle), certain hormonal contraceptives, an intrauterine device, bilateral tubal occlusion, or a partner who has had a vasectomy confirmed as successful or has been diagnosed as infertile

- People who were involved in planning or running this study
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial involving an experimental treatment within the last month
- For people recruited at the Unidade Local de Saúde de São João hospital site: people whose kidneys are functioning below a certain level (eGFR below 30 ml/min/1.73m²), or who are on dialysis (confirm with trial site for details on how kidney function is measured)
- For people recruited through community settings: people who have been diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease or who are on dialysis
