Who might be able to join this trial:

• People with a life expectancy of more than 10 years
• People whose PSA blood test result was below 20 ng/ml at the start
• People with no signs that the prostate condition has spread beyond the prostate gland, based on a physical examination
• People whose MRI scan results and PSA density measurements place them in an intermediate-risk category for suspected prostate cancer (specifically, a PI-RADS score of 3, or a PI-RADS score of 4 with a PSA density at or below 0.15) (confirm with trial site)
• People who are mentally able to understand the possible benefits and burdens of taking part in the study
• People who are willing to attend follow-up appointments for up to four years
• People who have given written and signed consent to participate

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have previously had a prostate biopsy
• People who have already been diagnosed with prostate cancer
• People who are currently using any hormonal or anti-hormonal therapy, including a type of medication called 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors
• People who have a confirmed inherited genetic mutation linked to prostate cancer risk, such as BRCA1 or BRCA2
• People who have another type of cancer (other than a common type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma) and are currently receiving treatment for it
• People with severe claustrophobia or other conditions that make MRI scans unsuitable, such as having certain metal implants or a pacemaker
