Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 to 80 years old at the time of screening (and in some locations, people aged 16 to 17 who have reached full physical maturity, as assessed by a medical professional)
- People who have had a confirmed diagnosis of moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (a type of inflammatory bowel disease) for at least 3 months before the study start date

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease or a form of bowel inflammation that doctors have not been able to clearly classify
- People currently diagnosed with ulcerative proctitis (a form of bowel inflammation limited to the rectum)
- People who have had bowel surgery in the 3 months before the study start date, or who have had more than 3 bowel surgeries in total
- People who have had or currently have high-grade abnormal cell changes in the digestive tract (confirm with trial site)
- People who are taking standard treatments but have not yet been on a stable, consistent dose before the study start date
- People who are taking certain medications or therapies that are not permitted under the trial rules (confirm with trial site for the specific list)
- People who have previously taken or are currently taking an investigational (experimental) drug that targets a substance called TL1A
