- People who have had a stroke, traumatic brain injury, or brain surgery — at least 6 months ago but no more than 10 years ago

Who may not be able to join:
- People with a physical, neurological, or mental condition that would interfere with receiving the treatment

- People with certain eye or brain conditions that would interfere with training or cause additional vision problems, including having no remaining vision at all, certain eye disorders, or specific types of visual field loss not related to the optic nerve

- People who depend on a life-supporting external medical device, such as an infusion pump or a heart assist device
- People who have an active implanted medical device, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, nerve stimulator, or cochlear implant
- People with a known history of epilepsy triggered by light or flashing images
- People who have an active, ongoing infection on the head or face
- People with a known immune disorder where an infection could be life-threatening
