Who may be able to join
- You have been diagnosed with advanced or spreading non-small cell lung cancer (a common type of lung cancer) that cannot be treated with surgery or radiation to cure it, and this has been confirmed through a lab test on a tissue or cell sample.
- Your lung cancer has been tested (either from a tumor sample or a blood test) and found to have a specific gene change called an "EGFR PACC mutation."
- You have not yet received any drug treatments (such as chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy) for your advanced or spreading lung cancer.
- If you previously had treatment (such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or combined chemo-radiation) for an earlier stage of lung cancer that had not spread, at least 12 months must have passed since that treatment ended before joining this trial.
- You are eligible if you have cancer that has spread to the brain but is not causing any symptoms.
Who may not be able to join
Each point below is a reason the trial team may not be able to accept someone. It is not a list of requirements to meet.
- You have previously received any targeted drug treatments aimed at the EGFR gene (such as EGFR inhibitor pills, certain antibody treatments, or similar therapies) for advanced or spreading lung cancer.
- You have received any other type of systemic (whole-body) cancer drug treatment for advanced or spreading lung cancer.
