Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had exactly one stroke, which occurred between 9 and 36 months ago
- The stroke can have been either an ischemic stroke (caused by a blockage) or a hemorrhagic stroke (caused by bleeding)
- People who have muscle stiffness and movement difficulties (spasticity) in at least one arm or leg as a result of their stroke
- People who have completed at least 3 months of stroke rehabilitation at some point in the past

- People who have had seizures after their stroke
- People who have depression
- People who have severe loss of sensation or feeling
- People who have a condition where they are unaware of their own disability (confirm with trial site)
- People who have moderate to severe difficulty attending to one side of their environment (confirm with trial site)
- People with medical conditions that make the surgical procedure involved in this trial unsafe, such as blood clotting disorders or poorly managed chronic illness (confirm with trial site)
- People for whom MRI scanning is not safe or suitable
- People who have not undergone any stroke rehabilitation
