Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are between 40 and 80 years old
• People who have been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by a doctor for at least 1 year

• People whose blood test shows a certain type of immune cell (eosinophils) at a level of 150 cells or more per microlitre
• People with a body mass index (BMI) between 18.0 and 40.0

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have asthma, including a condition where asthma and COPD overlap
• People who have another significant lung disease besides COPD
• People who require high-flow long-term oxygen therapy above certain levels (confirm with trial site)
• People who have an unstable health condition that could affect their safety or the results of the study
• People who have active or incompletely treated tuberculosis (TB)
• People who have a current or past history of cancer
• People who are taking certain long-term antibiotics (macrolides) or specific medications that affect airway inflammation, unless they have been on a stable dose for more than 6 months
• People who have received a biologic therapy or a medication that suppresses the immune system within approximately the past 4 months (or within 5 half-lives of the medication, whichever is longer)
