Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with depression that keeps coming back (moderate or severe) or long-lasting depression.
- Your current depression has not improved enough with antidepressant pills you have taken by mouth.
- You have been taking antidepressant pills for at least 8 weeks and are willing to keep taking the same medication at the same dose throughout the study.
- Your depression score on a standard rating scale is high enough at both your screening appointment and your first study visit (confirm with trial site).
- You are willing and able to follow all study rules and attend all required appointments, as agreed by the study doctor.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with another mental health condition in the past year that was the main focus of your treatment, rather than depression.
- The study doctor believes you are at immediate risk of harming yourself or others.
- Your depression did not improve when you previously received electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), also known as "shock therapy," during your current episode of depression.
