Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 60 or older
  • People who have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis (a condition where the knee joint wears down over time), confirmed by a doctor's assessment and imaging, ranging from mild to severe

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have already had a full knee replacement surgery, in one or both knees
  • People who have a neurological condition that affects movement or thinking, such as Parkinson's disease, stroke, or moderate to severe dementia
  • People who have an active inflammatory joint disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus
  • People who have a pacemaker, an implantable heart device, or metal implants near the area being treated
  • People who are currently receiving other physical therapy treatments for pain — such as electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, or TENS — outside of this study
  • People who have taken part in another clinical trial within the past 3 months
  • People who are currently taking anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) or steroid medications, including steroid injections into the knee
  • People who have open wounds or an active infection at the treatment site
  • People who have a serious heart condition or a medical reason that makes exercise unsafe
  • People who have a balance disorder affecting the inner ear (vestibular disorder) that interferes with balance testing
  • People who have uncorrected vision problems that affect walking or balance — specifically, vision worse than 20/60 in the better eye as measured by a standard eye chart
