Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of a malignant (cancerous) ovarian tumour and are scheduled for planned surgery to remove as much of the tumour as possible, which will involve removing part of the large bowel (the rectum and sigmoid colon) and rejoining the ends.
  • You have signed a consent form agreeing to take part before any trial-related procedures begin.
  • You are 18 years of age or older.

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your cancer is not an ovarian tumour (for example, if it originates from a different organ or tissue type).
  • Your surgery is planned for comfort or symptom relief only, rather than to remove the cancer.
  • During the operation, the surgical team decides that removing part of the large bowel is not actually needed after all.
  • During the operation, instead of rejoining the bowel ends, you require a stoma (an opening on the abdomen where waste is collected in a bag) rather than a reconnection.

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.

This study is not part of the standard drug-approval phase pathway (for example an observational, device, behavioural, or registry study), so a phase success rate does not apply.
