Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have prostate cancer that is localised, very high risk, has spread to nearby lymph nodes, or has spread to other parts of the body (Stage IV).
- People who are currently being treated with a type of hormone-based cancer therapy called an androgen receptor pathway inhibitor (ARPI), with plans to continue that treatment for at least 18 months.
- People who are older than 65 with at least one heart or blood vessel risk factor, OR people aged 45 to 65 with at least two of the following risk factors: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, a close male family member (father or brother) who had heart disease before age 55 or a close female family member (mother or sister) who had heart disease before age 65, or calcium deposits found in the heart arteries on a chest scan.
- People with a general health and activity level that falls within a moderate range (confirm with trial site for what this means in practice).
- People who are willing and able to give written consent and follow the requirements of the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already received more than 6 months of the type of hormone-based cancer therapy (ARPI) mentioned above before joining the trial.
- People who are already receiving ongoing care from a heart specialist with specific expertise in the heart-related risks of cancer treatments.
