Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose osteoarthritis affects the outer side of the knee or the kneecap area
  • People who have previously had a knee replacement
  • People with a significant knee ligament injury or a recent injury to the lower limb
  • People with a neurological condition that affects the way they walk
  • People with a severe psychiatric or neurological condition that affects how they perceive pain
  • People with a skin condition or allergy that would prevent them from wearing a knee brace
  • People who are currently using another knee brace or walking aid
  • People who have used opioid pain medicines or corticosteroid medicines within the past 4 weeks
  • People who are pregnant
