Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer (specifically a type called clear cell renal cell carcinoma, with or without certain aggressive features) that cannot be surgically removed and has spread to other parts of the body (Stage IV).
• People whose cancer can be measured on scans according to standard medical criteria.
• People whose cancer came back either while they were receiving a type of immunotherapy treatment (called anti-PD-1/L1 therapy) given after surgery, or within 24 months of finishing that treatment.
• People who have not received any other systemic (whole-body) cancer treatments for their kidney cancer, apart from the immunotherapy described above.

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have had serious heart or blood vessel problems in the 12 months before joining, such as severe heart failure, unstable chest pain, a heart attack, a stroke, a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs), or a dangerous irregular heartbeat.
• People who had a blood clot in a deep vein (such as in the leg) within the 3 months before joining, unless it is stable, causing no symptoms, and has been treated with blood-thinning medication for at least 4 weeks.
• People whose heart pumping function is below a certain level, as measured by a heart scan (confirm with trial site for the specific measurement).
• People who have had major surgery within 8 weeks before joining, or who have not fully recovered from major surgery, or who have ongoing complications from surgery.
• People who currently have inflammation of the lungs (pneumonitis) or scarring/inflammation of lung tissue (interstitial lung disease).
• People who have fluid build-up around the lungs, in the abdomen, or around the heart that is causing symptoms such as cough, breathlessness, or chest pain, and has needed draining within 4 weeks before joining.
• People who have a gastrointestinal (digestive tract) condition that carries a high risk of perforation (a tear or hole forming) or fistula (an abnormal connection forming).
• People who have a serious wound, ulcer, or bone fracture that has not been healing.
• People who require kidney dialysis (either haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis).
• People who have a history of HIV infection.
• People who have hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection.
• People who have an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) that is causing symptoms and is not adequately controlled with medication.
• People who have received a live or live-attenuated vaccine within 30 days before starting the trial treatment.
