Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with kidney cancer (RCC) that has spread or cannot be removed or treated with radiation, confirmed by a tissue or cell sample
- You have at least one tumour that can be measured by scans and has not yet been treated
- Your blood, liver, heart, and kidney functions are at acceptable levels (as determined by the trial team)
- You have not had previous drug or systemic treatment for your kidney cancer (some immunotherapy given after surgery may be allowed if it was more than 12 months ago)
- Your general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a certain level (known as ECOG 0 or 1 — meaning you are fully active or have minor restrictions) (confirm with trial site)
- You fall into any risk category based on a standard kidney cancer risk scoring system called IMDC (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have active cancer that has spread to the brain, spinal cord, or surrounding membranes
- You have a significant risk of bleeding or developing abnormal connections between body tissues (fistula)
- You have been diagnosed with another cancer within the past 3 years
- You have had an organ transplant or bone marrow/stem cell transplant from another person
- You have an active autoimmune disease that has required medication within the last 2 years
- You have had uncontrolled heart problems or other serious health conditions within the past 6 months
- You have had major surgery or serious injury within the past 4 weeks, or are planned to have major surgery during the study
- You have a history of serious bleeding problems or issues with blood clotting
- You have had certain serious digestive or stomach problems (such as severe ulcers, bowel blockage, internal abscess, or active bleeding) within the past 6 months
- You currently have an active, ongoing, or symptomatic infection
- You have a history of a weakened immune system
