Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 75 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) as an adult, for at least 6 months
- People whose RA is considered moderately to severely active
- People whose RA has not responded well enough to previous treatment, as defined by the trial's specific guidelines (confirm with trial site)
- People who have tested positive for certain markers in their blood associated with RA, known as RF or ACPA
- People who have been on a stable dose of standard RA medications (called DMARDs) may be permitted to continue taking them
- People who are willing and able to attend all required study visits and follow the trial's schedule and rules
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose RA has severely limited their ability to carry out basic self-care activities (the most severe functional category, as classified by the ACR)
- People who have another autoimmune disease in addition to RA
- People who currently have an active infection, or who have a history of serious, recurring, or long-term infections
- People who have a history of a rare and serious brain condition called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
- People who have been diagnosed with, or have a history of, cancer within the last 5 years, or breast cancer within the last 10 years
- People who have had an organ transplant or a stem cell transplant, or for whom one is planned
- People who have received a live vaccine within the 4 weeks before joining the trial
- People who have had major surgery (including joint surgery) within the 8 weeks before the screening visit, or who have major surgery planned within 6 months after joining the trial
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have a significant or poorly controlled medical condition that would prevent safe participation (confirm with trial site)
