Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who are between 45 and 90 years of age and have active wet age-related macular degeneration (a condition where abnormal blood vessels grow in the back of the eye)
• People whose eye condition is currently showing signs of activity, as seen during a routine eye examination and a special eye scan called an OCT (a painless imaging test of the retina)
• People for whom a treating doctor has already determined that injections into the eye are medically appropriate

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are younger than 45 or older than 90 years of age
• People who have had a stroke, a blood flow problem in the brain, a heart attack, or a coronary stent procedure within the past six months
• People who have uveitis (inflammation inside the eye)
• People whose eye has a clouding problem — such as a significant cataract or cloudy cornea — that prevents clear imaging of the back of the eye
• People who also have other blood vessel-related conditions affecting the retina, such as a blocked vein in the retina or swelling in the central retina caused by diabetes
• People who have an inherited condition that causes the retina to break down over time
• People who have damage or wasting of the optic nerve (the nerve that connects the eye to the brain)
