Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have had a stroke, an incomplete spinal cord injury, or an acquired brain injury, and who are receiving rehabilitation at Ghent University Hospital (either as an inpatient or as an outpatient attending therapy sessions).
  • People who are able to walk on their own for at least 6 minutes without needing another person physically present to assist them (this is measured using a standard walking ability scale called the Functional Ambulation Category, level 3 or higher).

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with a serious bone or joint injury, or a recent injury to the legs or feet, that affects the way they walk.
  • People whose body weight is over 120 kg.
  • People who experience severe dizziness that makes it impossible to exercise while standing up.
  • People with serious heart or lung conditions that would require medical monitoring during physical activity.
  • People who are unable to understand and follow the instructions required to take part in the study tasks.
