Who might be able to join this trial:

• Children who have been formally diagnosed with a stroke
• Children between the ages of 5 and 13 years
• Children with a mild to moderate level of muscle stiffness (spasticity), rated at level 1 or 2 on a standard medical scale called the Modified Ashworth Scale
• Children whose hand and arm function falls between levels 3 and 6 on a scale that measures how well children use their hands for everyday tasks (called the Manual Ability Classification System)
• Children who are at level 1 or 2 on a scale that measures movement and walking ability (called the Gross Motor Function Classification System)
• Children who can move their affected wrist, thumb, and fingers at least a small amount on their own — specifically, bending the wrist back at least 20 degrees, moving the thumb out or straightening it at least 10 degrees, and straightening the other fingers at least 10 degrees (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• Children who have epilepsy or a condition that causes seizures
• Children who have previously had botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) injections
• Children with cognitive impairment (difficulties with thinking, memory, or understanding)
• Children who have had a fracture (broken bone) in their arm or hand
• Children who have had any surgical procedure on their arm or hand
