Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with a stroke or doctors suspect you may have had a stroke
  • You have had a stroke along with other neurological (brain or nervous system) conditions
  • You are between 40 and 85 years old
  • Both men and women can take part
  • You are already scheduled for a special swallowing X-ray test (called VFSS) because doctors suspect you may have trouble swallowing, based on a bedside water drinking test and a swallowing questionnaire you completed as part of your normal care

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your body weight falls into a higher BMI category (above 35), as excess body fat can interfere with the sound-based equipment used in the study
