AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be 18 years old or older
  • Your overall health must meet a certain minimum standard before surgery or procedures (not in the most critical health category — confirm with trial site)
  • You must have had a CT scan done within the last 7 days
  • You must be in hospital being treated for a severe form of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas with tissue damage) that has led to fluid collections needing to be drained, due to infection, pressure on nearby organs, or ongoing organ problems
  • Despite already having a drainage procedure, you still need at least one further procedure called DEN (a procedure to clean out the infected area from the inside) because symptoms or signs of infection are still present more than 48 hours after drainage, with the collection still showing on scans

Who may not be able to join:

  • You do not currently have a drainage tube or device in place managing a pancreatic fluid collection
  • You have already had a DEN procedure (any type) before being considered for this trial
  • Your life expectancy is less than one year, for example due to advanced cancer
  • You have a known blood clotting or bleeding disorder, such as haemophilia or a long-term low platelet count
  • You are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • You are legally detained or under a legal protection order
  • You are not registered with a social security or equivalent health insurance scheme (confirm with trial site, as this may be specific to the country where the trial is running)
  • You or your trusted representative (if present at the time of joining) do not wish to take part in the research
  • You are already taking part in another clinical trial that involves an intervention or treatment
