Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had a stroke (either a blocked blood vessel or a bleed in the brain) within the last 6 months that caused weakness or paralysis on one side of the body, and whose condition is currently stable
- People aged 18 years or older
- People whose brain scan shows a single affected area that matches their movement difficulties
- People who are mentally able to understand and follow instructions during therapy
- People who have confirmed weakness in one arm or hand, based on a standard movement strength test
- People whose muscle stiffness (if present) is mild enough to still allow some movement in the affected limb
- People who have signed a written consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose brain scans show more than one damaged area in the brain
- People with severe muscle stiffness in the affected limb
- People with a language or communication difficulty that prevents them from understanding spoken instructions
- People with significant memory, thinking, or behavioural difficulties that would interfere with participating in training sessions
- People with a bone, joint, or muscle condition, or a past surgery outcome, that would prevent them from completing the physical rehabilitation activities
