Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 70 years old, of any gender
- People whose psoriasis covers a significant area of the body or is rated as moderate to severe using a standard scoring tool (confirm with trial site for exact score details)
- People who have had plaque psoriasis for at least 6 months before joining the study
- People whose psoriasis has not improved enough with creams or ointments applied to the skin
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a type of psoriasis other than plaque psoriasis, or who have another serious skin condition that could affect the study results
- People who have taken steroid tablets, biologic medicines, or other medicines that affect the immune system in the 4 weeks before the study starts
- People who are known to be allergic to, or cannot safely take, either of the two study medications (methotrexate or tofacitinib)
- People with a significant history of liver, kidney, blood, digestive, or immune system problems, or any history of tuberculosis or cancer
- Women who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
