Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged between 40 and 80 years old
  • People who had a stroke that affected one side of their body, between 6 and 60 months before agreeing to take part in the trial
  • People whose overall health condition is stable
  • People who have felt unusually tired or low in energy — such as needing more rest than usual or feeling fatigued beyond what their physical activity would explain — for at least 2 weeks in the past month

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who score below 4 on a standard fatigue measurement scale called the FSS (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have other neurological conditions (conditions affecting the brain or nervous system) apart from their stroke
  • People who have joint, muscle, or bone problems that would make it unsafe for them to take part in exercise activities
  • People who have been formally diagnosed with a significant heart, lung, or metabolic condition (such as uncontrolled diabetes)
  • People who have shown signs or symptoms of a significant heart, lung, or metabolic condition in the past 3 months
  • People who have severe muscle stiffness in their lower limbs, as measured by a clinical scale (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have received Botulinum toxin (sometimes known as Botox) injections in the affected leg within the past 6 months
  • People who are currently taking or have previously taken medication specifically aimed at treating tiredness after a stroke
  • People who are currently participating in another stroke rehabilitation research trial
