Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who are 40 years of age or older at the time of joining the trial.
  • People who have been diagnosed with a lung condition called IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) within the last 7 years, confirmed by a specialist and a specific type of chest scan (HRCT) showing a pattern consistent with IPF.
  • People whose lungs are functioning at 40% or more of the expected level, as measured by a breathing test called spirometry.
  • People who are either taking one of the approved IPF medications (nintedanib or pirfenidone), or not taking either — but not both medications at the same time.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with a lung scarring condition other than IPF.
  • People who have a serious form of high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension) that requires treatment with more than one medication.
  • People who have had a sudden worsening of their IPF within the 6 weeks before screening, or during the screening period itself.
  • People whose kidneys are not working well enough (below a certain level as measured by a blood test), or who have moderate to severe liver disease.
  • Women who are able to become pregnant are not eligible to participate.

Please note that additional criteria beyond those listed above also apply.
