Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 50 or older who have been diagnosed with a condition called polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), based on recognised medical guidelines
- People who are either newly diagnosed with PMR (and have taken steroid tablets for no more than 6 weeks), or who have had an early return of PMR symptoms within the past 12 weeks while already on a low dose of steroids

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with a related condition called Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA)
- People who also have rheumatoid arthritis, another type of inflammatory joint condition, a connective tissue disease, or fibromyalgia
- People who have an underactive thyroid that is not being adequately treated
- People with a current or recurring serious infection, including tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis B or C, HIV, or shingles (herpes zoster) (confirm with trial site)
- People with poorly controlled diabetes (confirmed by a specific blood test result)
- People currently taking immune-suppressing medications, including steroid tablets (confirm with trial site)
- People who have or have had cancer
- People who have received an organ transplant
