Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are over 18 years old
- People who have severe asthma that is not well controlled (based on a specific asthma control score called the ACQ being above 1.5), even after trying the highest recommended level of asthma treatment
- People who have already tried at least one biologic medicine (a type of specialist asthma injection), or for whom biologic treatment is not considered suitable by their doctor
- People who have had 2 or more serious asthma attacks in the past year that required a course of steroid tablets, or a significant increase in their regular steroid tablet dose, for at least 3 days in a row

Who may not be able to join:

- People who have been admitted to an intensive care unit and needed a breathing machine or breathing tube inserted for asthma in the past year
- People who take blood-thinning medication that cannot be safely paused temporarily
- People who are pregnant
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher
- People who currently smoke or have smoked heavily in the past (more than 20 pack years, which means roughly a pack a day for 20 years or equivalent)
- People whose lungs show a reduced ability to transfer oxygen into the blood, below a certain threshold on a breathing test (confirm with trial site)
- People who have a known allergy or sensitivity to any medicines used during a bronchoscopy (a procedure where a camera is passed into the airways)
- People who take immune-suppressing medicines other than steroid tablets, if those medicines could affect the procedure being studied
- People who have a bleeding disorder, problems with platelets (the blood cells that help clotting), or a low platelet count
- People who have other serious health conditions that make the procedure being studied unsafe, such as severe heart failure, bronchiectasis, scarring lung disease, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, a blocked upper airway, or certain rare lung conditions including Churg-Strauss syndrome and allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA)
- People who have an internal or external pacemaker or a heart defibrillator device
