Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 35 and 80 years old
- People whose Lp(a) level (a type of cholesterol-related protein in the blood) was measured at 200 nmol/L or higher during the screening process
- People whose heart scan (a specialised CT scan of the heart's arteries) shows a blockage or narrowing in at least one of the main heart arteries
- People who have previously had a heart attack (believed to be caused by a blood clot from a ruptured or eroded plaque) and/or had a procedure to open or widen a blocked heart artery (such as a stent)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had heart bypass surgery (CABG)
- People with moderate to severe kidney problems
- People whose liver enzyme or bilirubin levels (markers of liver health) were found to be significantly above the normal range during screening
- People who have previously had a bleeding stroke (a stroke caused by a burst blood vessel in the brain)
- People with a history of a serious bleeding disorder
- People who have heart surgery or an artery-opening procedure already planned
- People with severe heart failure
- People who are currently having, have recently had, or have a planned procedure called lipoprotein apheresis (a treatment that filters Lp(a) from the blood)
- People who have previously been treated with an RNA-based therapy specifically designed to target Lp(a)
