Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 75 years old at the time of signing the consent form, of any sex
- People who have been diagnosed with breast cancer confirmed through laboratory testing of tissue or cell samples
- People whose breast cancer is at an advanced or metastatic (spread) stage, and who have received no more than 5 rounds of systemic (whole-body) treatment, including at least one treatment that was a HER2-targeted antibody-drug conjugate (a type of targeted therapy) containing a topoisomerase inhibitor (confirm with trial site for specific treatment history requirements)
- People whose cancer has gotten worse, or who could not tolerate their most recent treatment before joining the trial
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on scans, according to standard measurement guidelines
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously been treated with A166 or any HER2-targeted antibody-drug conjugate that works by blocking cell structure (microtubule inhibitor payload)
- People with a known history of severe allergic reactions to monoclonal antibodies (a type of targeted medicine), or who are allergic to A166 or its ingredients
- People who had to permanently stop taking trastuzumab or a similar medicine due to side effects during a previous treatment
- People who have a severe disease affecting the surface of the eye at the start of the trial, or who are unable to carry out daily activities without wearing contact lenses
- People who have compression of the spinal cord, or brain/spinal metastases (cancer that has spread to the brain or spine) that are currently causing symptoms
- People who, in the opinion of the trial doctor, have other health conditions that make participation unsuitable
