Who might be able to join this trial:

For the person with dementia (participant):

• You live at home or in the community (not in a nursing home or care facility)
• You have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia (such as Lewy Body, Vascular, or Mixed dementia) by a doctor or neurologist
• Your dementia is considered mild to moderate, based on specific memory and thinking test scores (confirm with trial site)
• You scored above 10 on a standard memory and thinking test called the MoCA (confirm with trial site)
• You have had ongoing knee pain for at least 3 months, rated above 40 out of 100 on average (as reported by your caregiver)
• You are not planning to change any medications or treatments for your knee pain during the trial
• You are willing to take part in both a gentle seated yoga program held online and a type of mild brain stimulation called tDCS
• You can walk on your own, with minimal help such as a cane or walker
• You speak English and can understand spoken instructions (reading and writing are not required)
• You can give your own consent to join, or you have a legally authorized representative who can give written consent on your behalf
• You show some behavioral or mood-related symptoms, such as apathy or agitation
• You have never done yoga or received tDCS before

Who may not be able to join:

For the person with dementia (participant):

• You have a history of brain surgery, brain tumor, head injury, seizures or epilepsy, stroke, cancer affecting the head, or metal implants in the skull
• You have a systemic condition affecting the joints or muscles, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or fibromyalgia
• You have had a knee replacement or major surgery on the affected knee
• You have skin problems or broken skin on your scalp where the stimulation pads would need to be placed
• You have a serious health condition that would prevent you from safely taking part in the yoga or brain stimulation sessions (for example, severe heart failure causing breathlessness during activity)
• You were hospitalized in the past year for a psychiatric or neurological illness that could affect your knee pain or ability to take part in the study
• You currently use another type of nerve or brain stimulation device, such as a spinal cord stimulator or an implanted heart device (like a pacemaker or defibrillator)

Who might be able to join this trial:

For the caregiver:

• You are at least 18 years old
• You currently help care for the participant at least 10 hours per week
• You expect to continue providing that care for the full 4 months of the study
• You are willing to be trained to help administer the at-home brain stimulation sessions and assist the participant in attending the online yoga sessions
• You have a reliable internet connection that can support secure video calls
• You speak English and can understand spoken instructions

Who may not be able to join:

For the caregiver:

• You have an alcohol or substance use disorder
• You are not able to understand English
• You have a physical disability that would prevent you from helping the participant take part in the sessions (for example, significant vision or hearing loss) (confirm with trial site)
• You are unwilling to continue supporting the participant through to the end of the study
• Please note: if the caregiver does not meet the eligibility requirements, the participant will also not be able to join the trial
