Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been clinically diagnosed with an ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel) or a TIA (a "mini-stroke" or temporary stroke-like episode)
- People whose stroke or TIA symptoms occurred within the last 30 days, and who are able to start the assigned study medication within 2 days of being enrolled in the trial

- People who have previously had a bad reaction or intolerance to ezetimibe (another type of cholesterol-lowering drug)
- People whose liver enzyme levels (specifically ALT) are higher than 100 U/L, which may indicate a liver problem
- People who were regularly taking statin medications before their stroke occurred
- People who were taking ezetimibe before their stroke occurred
