Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 50 and 90 years old at the time of joining.
- People who have been diagnosed with probable Alzheimer's disease based on recognised diagnostic guidelines.

- People who have a reliable carer or companion who can support them throughout the study and spend at least 8 hours per week with them.
- People who are willing to take part in the trial, follow the assigned treatment plan throughout the study, and have signed a consent form.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a mini-stroke (TIA), stroke, or seizure in the past 12 months.
- People who have a psychiatric diagnosis or symptoms — such as hallucinations, severe depression, or delusions — that might interfere with taking part in the study.
- People who have a known allergy to opioid pain medicines.
- People with severe problems with their vision or hearing.
- People with alcohol dependence, substance abuse, or addiction to other drugs.
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial for Alzheimer's disease treatment.
- People who have another medical condition that is not well controlled or treated — for example, relating to the heart, lungs, digestive system, liver, or kidneys — or any condition the study doctor considers a safety concern.
- People excluded for any other reason judged by the study doctor to make participation unsuitable.
