Who might be able to join this trial:
- You still have your natural bile duct opening (called a papilla) that has not been surgically altered.
- You are already scheduled to have a procedure called ERCP (a procedure used to examine or treat the bile ducts and pancreas).
- You are able to understand and sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had stomach or intestinal surgery that significantly rerouted your digestive tract (except for one specific type called Billroth I — confirm with trial site).
- You are currently having an episode of acute (sudden and severe) pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) at the time of the procedure.
- You have long-term (chronic) pancreatitis.
- You have cancer of the head of the pancreas that is blocking the main pancreatic duct.
- You already have a stent (small tube) in your pancreatic duct, or you are expected to need one placed during the procedure.
- You are known to be allergic to, or cannot take, a pain-relief medicine called indomethacin or similar anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen).
- Your kidneys are not working well enough (based on a specific blood test result — confirm with trial site).
- You currently have, or have previously had, stomach ulcers or bleeding in your digestive system caused by anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs).
