Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults of any gender between 18 and 65 years of age
  • People who have been diagnosed with active mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, based on guidelines from the American College of Gastroenterology
  • People who are currently being treated with a medication called mesalamine (also known as 5-aminosalicylic acid) for their condition

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with severe ulcerative colitis
  • People with significant problems with their liver or kidney function
  • People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
  • People currently using steroid medications, whether taken by mouth/injection or used rectally
  • People currently using immunosuppressant medications or biological therapies
  • People with a known allergy to desloratadine or any of its ingredients

  • People with a history of colon cancer
  • People who have had part or all of their colon surgically removed
