Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People with prostate cancer who are being treated at Henry Ford Health by the trial's lead or co-investigator, and who have chosen surgery as their treatment.

  • People whose cancer is at an early clinical stage (cT2 or lower), meaning it has not spread beyond the prostate.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have received hormone therapy (androgen deprivation therapy) within the past 6 months.
  • People whose cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes.
  • People whose cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic disease).
  • People who have previously had treatment for prostate cancer, such as radiation therapy or a procedure called HIFU.
  • People with serious health conditions that would make surgery unsafe, or whose life expectancy is estimated at less than 5 years based on a specific medical scoring tool.
  • People who have ever been diagnosed with any other type of cancer.
