- People who rate their knee pain at 4 or higher on a numbered pain scale (0–10) at their first screening appointment
- People who are willing to stop all other medical and non-medical treatments for their knee pain during the study, except for paracetamol (acetaminophen) as a rescue medication

- People who have a history of other conditions affecting the knee joint being studied
- People who have had a major injury or surgery to their knee or hip joint in the past year
- People who are planning to have any surgical procedure during the study period
- People who have mostly or completely lost the ability to move around
- People who have other health conditions that could make it difficult to assess knee pain accurately
- People who have a neuropsychiatric (mental health or neurological) condition that the trial doctor believes could affect pain assessments or self-reported scores
- People who have serious or poorly controlled ongoing health conditions
- People who have had a clinically confirmed history of peptic ulcer, bleeding, perforation, or bowel obstruction within the past year
- People who currently require medication or surgery for a relevant condition (confirm with trial site)
- People who have had a diagnosis of a malignant tumour (cancer) within the past 5 years
- People who have a history of drug misuse or heavy alcohol use within the past 2 years
