Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older (any gender)
- You have been diagnosed with open-angle glaucoma in the eye being studied
- You have been diagnosed with cataracts in the eye being studied and are considered a suitable candidate for cataract removal surgery, with vision in that eye at a certain level of impairment (or your doctor has decided you need cataract surgery even if your vision is better than that level)
- A special eye examination has confirmed that the drainage angle in your eye is open and healthy, with no abnormalities that could affect the placement of a small device (confirm with trial site)
- You are able and willing to sign a consent form and attend all required follow-up appointments after surgery
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a type of glaucoma other than open-angle glaucoma, such as angle-closure, pigmentary, or pseudo-exfoliative glaucoma
- Your glaucoma was caused by an injury, severe eye inflammation, abnormal blood vessel growth, or certain blood vessel-related conditions
- You have serious eye conditions such as severe diabetic eye disease, a detached retina, blocked blood vessels in the retina, or macular degeneration or swelling that could affect the safety of surgery
- You have a known abnormality in the structure of the front part of your eye that you were born with
- You have significant corneal disease, active eye inflammation, or have had previous eye surgery that may make measuring eye pressure unreliable
- You have certain conditions affecting the area around the eye or elsewhere in the body that may raise pressure in the veins around the eye, such as a tumour behind the eye, thyroid eye disease, or Sturge-Weber syndrome (confirm with trial site)
- You have any eye or general health condition that could make surgery or follow-up examinations unsafe
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant during the study, or unable to use effective contraception during the study period
- You are unable or unwilling to follow the medical instructions given during the trial
- Your doctor has determined for any other reason that you are not suitable to take part
