- People who have digestive or bowel conditions such as intestinal polyps, tuberculosis of the gut, bowel tumours, irritable bowel syndrome, or constipation caused by another underlying condition (such as a hormonal, metabolic, or post-surgical problem); or people who have abdominal blood vessel problems, enlarged liver or spleen, or serious heart, liver, kidney, or mental health conditions, or blood clotting disorders
- People who had constipation before their stroke occurred
- People whose constipation is not related to a stroke (confirm with trial site)
- People who are unable to complete the full course of treatment as required by the study
- People who experience serious side effects or complications that make it unsafe to continue
- People who do not follow the study's treatment plan, stop treatment early, use other treatments not allowed by the study, or change their treatment without approval
